EastEnders fans are convinced that Karen Taylor is planning a return to Walford after her voice was heard in a June 23 episode, sparking speculation she will protect Jordan Fox from Sheila Atkins and Gray Atkins.
Karen Taylor's voicemail sparks comeback speculation
In the episode, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) left a voicemail for Karen (Lorraine Stanley), seeking advice about Sheila Atkins (Sheila Ruskin), Jordan's great-grandmother. Sheila had given Chelsea £3,000 for Jordan's physiotherapy after his road traffic accident left him unable to walk, but Chelsea grew suspicious of Sheila's motives.
Later, Jordan and Raymond accidentally answered a call from Karen, who warned Chelsea to give Sheila "a very wide berth" due to her connection to Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith), the murderer of Karen's daughter Chantelle.
"She tried getting in touch with Mack and Mia a few times, but as far as I'm concerned, inviting her into your life is the same as inviting Gray," Karen said. "Not sure if you can even hear me. Phone's being weird. Call me back if you need to."

Why Karen Taylor left EastEnders
Lorraine Stanley played Karen Taylor from 2017 to 2024. Karen and her partner Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) left Walford with Mack and Mia in December 2023 after Chantelle's death. She returned briefly in June 2024 after son Keanu's (Danny Walters) murder, but was convinced by Bernie (Clair Norris) to leave for her mental health.
