EastEnders fans predict Honey's fate after cliffhanger

EastEnders viewers have 'worked out' what happens to Honey Mitchell after Monday night's brutal cliffhanger left her unconscious on the floor. The character, played by Emma Barton, came face-to-face with Bea Pollard, who had faked her death to frame Billy Mitchell for murder.

Honey's plan backfires

In the episode aired on 6 July, Honey realised the police were not taking her word that Bea was unhinged. She organised a daytime vigil for Bea, which was livestreamed, pretending to be heartbroken over the 'death' and calling Bea her 'best friend'. Bea later resurfaced and thanked Honey for her kind words.

When Honey tried to convince Bea to go to the police to clear Billy's name, the two got into a fight. Bea pushed Honey, causing her to hit her head and knocking her unconscious.

Fan theories divide

One fan predicted that Honey was not dead and would soon wake up, saying: 'Classic knocked unconscious soap moment, with Honey being fully unconscious for at least a few minutes but almost guaranteed to wake up without any kind of brain injury.'

Another viewer countered: 'It would be way more interesting if she died and Bea then used Honey's death to frame Billy even further - not totally realistic but I would watch the hell out of that storyline.' They later added that Bea might try to frame Billy regardless of Honey's fate.

Police blunder with 'blood'

Meanwhile, fans were concerned that the police failed to realise the 'blood' Bea smeared on the wall was actually gravy. 'Surely they would have tested the blood and seen the beef joint,' a viewer said. Another criticised the police for testing the 'blood' against Honey, Will and Janet instead of running it through forensics independently.

Previously, some fans thought the police would quickly realise the truth, but others noted the responding officers on Thursday were 'response officers' not conducting a full crime scene analysis. However, Bea cut her hand during a tussle with Billy, meaning her blood could be mixed with the gravy, misleading the police.
