James Van Der Beek, best known for his role in Dawson's Creek, shared a poignant message with fans just weeks before his death at age 48. The actor died on February 11 after a battle with colorectal cancer.
In a video posted on Instagram on January 15, Van Der Beek spoke about New Year's resolutions, urging followers to rest and recover during winter. 'Why are we celebrating a new year in the dead of winter? Why are we celebrating new beginnings at a time when nature rests?' he said. He suggested making resolutions in spring, aligning with nature's rhythms.
Days later, he shared a touching tribute to his daughter and father, who share a birthday. He praised their 'open, warm, loving, gentle heart' and 'out-of-the-box Aquarian creativity'. He wrote: 'The world is a better place because the two of you are in it.'
His widow, Kimberly, announced his death, describing his final days as met with 'courage, faith, and grace'. She noted the family faces significant financial strain due to medical costs and has launched a GoFundMe page for support.
