Eamonn Holmes Shares Emotional Tribute Amid Dog Custody Battle with Ruth Langsford

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has posted a heartfelt tribute to his beloved Border Collie, Maggie, amid reports of a custody battle with his ex-wife Ruth Langsford following their divorce. The couple, who separated in May 2024 after more than a decade of marriage and nearly 30 years together, adopted Maggie in 2011.

Holmes, 65, shared two pictures of himself with the dog on Instagram, captioned: “17 years apart …… and we are both still going - JUST”. Ruth Langsford, a regular panellist on Loose Women, also frequently shares photos of Maggie, and the official arrangement remains unclear.

A source told The Sun that Maggie is “like a daughter” to the former couple. “They dote on her. But she's getting on and they know she needs stability. It's a case of who can give her that,” the source said, adding that Holmes adores her and she has supported him through his health issues.

The tribute comes after reports that Holmes called his girlfriend, Katie Alexander, 43, his “soulmate” at a party, reportedly quipping: “In sickness you find out who is there for you.” A source described the comment as “a kick in the teeth” for Langsford.

Fans responded to Holmes’s post, with one asking, “Does Ruth let you see Maggie?” and another saying, “Wish you could be together.” The dog was also praised as “a beauty”.
