Eamonn Holmes' Girlfriend 'Praying Daily' After Star Found 'Slumped Unconscious'

Katie Alexander, the girlfriend of television presenter Eamonn Holmes, has been 'praying daily' for his recovery after he suffered a stroke and was found 'slumped unconscious' at his home, according to friends. Holmes, 66, was rushed to hospital on Tuesday and is currently recuperating, with Alexander reportedly 'beside herself' with concern.

The GB News presenter, who uses a wheelchair due to chronic pain from a dislocated pelvis and three slipped discs, was discovered collapsed at his flat in Kingston upon Thames, South West London, by a carer. His estranged wife, Ruth Langsford, has been kept informed of his condition through their 23-year-old son, Jack.

Friends told The Sun that Alexander, a relationship counsellor, has been praying in solitude at church and has been by Holmes' side in hospital almost constantly. 'She loves him dearly and is doing all she can to help. Everyone is just praying he'll be back home soon,' a source said.

Holmes had been expected to return to his breakfast programme on Monday, April 13, but will now be off air for the foreseeable future. He has not been seen on screen since March 11, when viewers expressed concern after he appeared to nod off during an interview with Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Darren Jones.

In a statement, GB News said: 'Eamonn was taken ill last week and it was later confirmed he had suffered a stroke. He is currently responding well to treatment. Eamonn has asked for privacy as he focuses on getting better.' His son Declan Holmes, 37, also thanked well-wishers and asked for privacy, saying his father is 'doing OK given the circumstances'.
