Two years after their shocking split, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are reportedly at an all-time low in their relationship as their bitter divorce continues. Sources close to the former couple describe the situation as 'pretty ugly,' with tensions escalating amid ongoing legal proceedings.
Divorce proceedings and family fallout
Eamonn and Ruth, both 65, ended their 14-year marriage in May 2024. Since then, Ruth has rebuilt her life, while Eamonn has moved on with new partner Katie Alexander. However, a series of health issues have plagued Eamonn recently, including a hospital stay. Now, insiders say things are 'at a pretty ugly stage' between the two.
Ruth was photographed attending Wimbledon earlier this week with Eamonn's younger son Niall, 32. The pair were seen having secret conversations and laughing together, indicating a close bond. According to a source, Niall had a massive fallout with his father after the split, siding with Ruth. 'Things were said between them that cannot be unsaid,' the source told the Daily Mail. 'Eamonn accused him of siding with Ruth while Niall hit back about his dad’s behaviour. This all happened more than a year ago and they haven’t spoken since. Niall adores Ruth.'
Eamonn's focus on other children
Eamonn is now turning his attention to his other children, Declan and Rebecca, who have reportedly been caught in the crossfire. A second insider said: 'Things between Eamonn and Ruth are at a pretty ugly stage now.' The Northern Irish star is upset about Niall's decision and is speaking with friends about the fallout.
The couple's divorce proceedings are set to go to court, with a trial scheduled for November after two hearings in June and February failed to reach a settlement over their joint finances. The Daily Star has reached out to Eamonn and Ruth's reps for comment.
