Dylan Efron runs New York Marathon unnoticed by fellow runner

Lottie, a runner who goes by 'runningonveggies' on Instagram, completed the 2026 New York City Marathon on November 1 without realising she had run the entire race alongside TV personality Dylan Efron. She only discovered who her running partner was after seeing footage of the race later.

The marathon set a new global record of 61,146 finishers. Lottie finished around the 3 hour and 22 minute mark, while Dylan completed the race in under 3.5 hours. Author and nutritionist Lottie, who has 75,800 followers on Instagram, posted a clip of the pair running together with the caption: "When you're so locked in, you don't realise you're running next to Dylan Efron the whole race."

Who is Dylan Efron?

Dylan Efron, 34, is the younger brother of High School Musical star Zac Efron. He works as an American TV personality and production coordinator. He has helped produce Down to Earth with Zac Efron, a Netflix travel documentary that follows the actor and wellness expert Darin Olien as they travel the globe to explore sustainable living, green energy, and healthy lifestyles.

Dylan has also featured in Off the Grid, a series on Zac's YouTube channel that follows the brothers taking part in outdoor activities and trips without electronic devices.

Recent television appearances

Last year, Dylan appeared on Peacock's third season of The Traitors, where he won as a Faithful alongside Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Dolores Catania, and Gabby Windey. In the same year, he was announced as a competitor on season 34 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, partnering with pro dancer Daniella Karagach. The pair placed fourth in the finale.

In January this year, he starred in the music video of "Wish I Didn't" by country singer Megan Moroney. Dylan has reportedly transitioned from working behind the scenes as a producer and writer into a prominent television personality, creator, and athlete. He recently completed the 2026 New York City Marathon, training alongside athletic and celebrity campaigns.
