Duffy Spotted in Public for First Time in 15 Years Ahead of Music Comeback
Duffy Spotted First Time in 15 Years Before Comeback

Over 15 years after her disappearance from the public eye, Duffy was spotted for the first time in a local cafe in North Wales earlier this week. While it has been reported that the Welsh singer is set to make a return to music, she has kept a low profile over the last decade and a half.

This is a result of the star having endured a horrific ordeal in the early 2010s where she was kidnapped, drugged and raped by her captors. Years on from the heartbreaking events, Duffy shared that the four weeks of hell left her feeling suicidal.

Many fans of the 41-year-old have now shared their joy at seeing the star out and about after she was spotted at a cafe called Caffi Largo, which is just seven miles away from her hometown of Nefyn, near Bangor. Taking time to snap a picture with staff, Duffy looked glamorous on her casual outing.

Sharing her appearance on social media, staff at Caffi Largo wrote: "Spotted - Celebrity singer from Nefyn, Amy Duffy, popped into the Caffi this morning. Always lovely to see local talent supporting local spots."

Many fans took to the comments section to share their joy, as one person wrote: "Good luck with your future and keep positive." While another account simply added: "Love this!!!!" with a red heart emoji.

A third person also commented: "Looking forward to hearing more music, fabulous voice." With another social media user noting: "Wow so lovely to see her coming back to her roots."

This comes as Duffy announced that she will be holding an intimate gig in London next month. With the star set to be making her return to music, many fans are keeping their fingers crossed that they are selected to see what she has in store.

Sharing the announcement on her Instagram story, Duffy wrote: "I'm doing a secret intimate gig in London on the 5th July, next month, and I would love nothing more than for some of you to attend."

After noting where fans can share their details, she added: "It's only a small capacity so we can only select a few, but really looking forward to it, I will sing some new songs. All my love, Duffy x"

Duffy stopped releasing music back in 2011 and hasn't been seen out in public until now after suffering through her kidnapping experience. After being silent for many years, the Mercy singer bravely opened up about her trauma back in 2020.

Writing on her website, Duffy explained that she feared for her life as she was abducted from a restaurant while celebrating her birthday, reports The Sun. The singer was then smuggled into a foreign country.

At the time, she wrote: "It was my birthday, I was drugged at a restaurant, I was drugged then for four weeks and travelled to a foreign country. I can't remember getting on the plane and came round in the back of a travelling vehicle. I was put into a hotel room and the perpetrator returned and raped me."

The singer is set to tell her story in an upcoming feature-length documentary on Disney+. The documentary promises "new, unprecedented access" to the Warwick Avenue singer.

Duffy will sit down to share her life story, both in the public eye and away from the spotlight. The documentary will also feature interviews with friends, family and music industry associates.
