Dr Amir Khan has shared how a trip to Scotland left his entire body in pain. The ITV doctor took a break from offering medical advice to attend a wedding in Scotland, where he experienced the true meaning of "No Scotland. No Party."
Ceilidh dancing aftermath
In an Instagram post on Sunday, July 26, Dr Amir said his visit was filled with fun and ceilidh dancing, leaving him "wondering how on earth Scottish people manage to function the next day." On his return to the office Monday morning, he revealed the Scottish hoolie had done a number on his entire body. "My arms are killing me, my shoulders are killing me, my buttocks are killing me. God knows what was going on on that dance floor but there was a lot going on," he posted.
Strip the Willow culprit
Dr Amir's earlier Instagram post detailed the likely cause: "The ceilidh started innocently enough… then someone shouted 'Strip the Willow!' and before I knew it I was being flung from one end of the dance floor to the other by people with the grip strength of Olympic rowers. My shoulders may never recover. I’m genuinely not sure how I’m going to examine patients this week. Scottish forearms are clearly built differently."
Praise for Scotland
Despite the pain, Dr Amir praised Scotland's party spirit, saying, "Honestly you guys know how to party. I finally understand the term 'No Scotland. No party.' It's like Bob Marley's no woman no cry." He also gushed about the scenery, calling Edinburgh "one of the most magical, whimsical cities" and describing Glasgow's "warmth, humour and energy." He concluded, "Thank you, Scotland, for your kindness, your laughter, your breathtaking scenery and for reminding me that life is meant to be danced through… even if I can’t lift my arms above shoulder height for the foreseeable future."
