Duane 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman has paid an emotional tribute to his wife Beth Chapman, one month after her death from cancer at the age of 51. He posted a smiling photo of Beth on Instagram, writing: 'It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.'
The couple married in 2006 but had been together for over 30 years. Beth died on 26 June, two years after being diagnosed with cancer. Family member Jamie Chapman, who is married to Dog's son Leland, commented on the post: 'I miss her so much.' The post received an outpouring of support from fans and friends.
In the weeks since Beth's death, the family held a memorial service at Fort DeRussy Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii, which Beth considered her 'second home,' and another at the Heritage Christian Centre in Colorado. Dog has also opened up about his grief, revealing he has lost nearly 20lbs and struggles to eat. 'I need to bulk up again. But I can’t eat. Two bites, I’m full. So I’ve got to force-feed myself like I force-fed her,' he told Entertainment Tonight.
Dog admitted he is finding it difficult to cope: 'I’m trying to man up. I am a crybaby. I blame it on my heritage. I can cry talking about crying. So I would be crying through the whole thing and I sob — I can’t stop it. So I can’t do that. And decisions, I can’t make them right now. … So manning up would be not get over it, but face it, take over it.'
