Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell and her partner, YouTuber Joe Sugg, have announced the birth of their son. The couple shared the news on social media, posting photographs of their newborn, Bowden Mark Richard Sugg, born on 16 March 2026.
In a joint statement, they wrote: 'Never felt a love like it. Baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg. 16/03/26.' The images show the baby sleeping in a blue hat, Joe carrying him to the hospital lift, and Dianne cradling him in a black-and-white photo. The posts have received thousands of likes and comments from fans and fellow celebrities.
Fleur East, host of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two, wrote: 'Ahhhh he’s here! Congratulations to both of you.' Professional dancer Vito Coppola added: 'I am so so happy. Crying for joy and happiness. Uncle Vito cannot wait to meet you.'
Buswell and Sugg met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, when they were partnered together. They confirmed their romance after the show, with Sugg remarking that he had won 'something much better' than the Glitterball trophy. The couple announced they were expecting in September 2025, sharing a video of themselves painting three stick figures.
Buswell had previously spoken about her desire to have children, despite the demands of her career. She said: 'It is quite tough because my job is quite demanding... It would take a lot of thought, but eventually one day we will get there.' She added: 'We’ve always wanted kids, it’s just finding the right time. I don’t feel worried about taking time out from dancing.'
During her pregnancy, Buswell faced criticism for continuing to dance on the show, but she hit back at negative comments, saying: 'I can't believe in 2025 things like this are still being said.'
