Dennis Quaid has described his marriage to his fourth wife, Laura Savoie, as 'paradise', revealing that the couple share a bond unlike any he has experienced before. The 71-year-old actor, who married the 32-year-old in 2020, told Fox News Digital: 'Every day is paradise with her. It really is. It's the closest relationship I've ever had with anybody.'
Quaid and Savoie first met at a business event in 2019 and were engaged by October of that year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they eloped in June 2020 at a Santa Barbara resort. Savoie, who is 39 years younger than Quaid, works as the founding partner of his production company, Bonniedale Films.
Addressing their significant age gap, Quaid previously told The Guardian that the discussion was 'really a laugh'. He explained: 'I didn't go out looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me. I met her at a business event and then the relationship developed. You have no control over who you fall in love with.'
The actor, who has been married three times before, said he is certain this is his final marriage. 'I feel like I have a real partner in life,' he added. Quaid was previously married to P.J. Soles, Meg Ryan, and Kimberly Buffington. He shares son Jack with Ryan and twins Thomas and Zoe with Buffington.
Reflecting on his marriage to Meg Ryan, Quaid admitted he grew jealous of her success. However, he said they remain good friends and co-parent Jack, who is now an acclaimed actor. 'Meg is really such a great, sweet person and really talented and deserved all her success,' Quaid said. 'We got Jack Quaid out of it, who is really going on to maybe eclipse both of us.'
Ultimately, Quaid described Savoie as the 'love of my life'. He told People: 'She came along and we have a bond with one another that I never had with anybody else before. It's a joy of life that we share together.'
