Denise Welch has finally given fans a glimpse inside her son Matty Healy's wedding from last weekend – but many have been left completely distracted by something else.
The Loose Women star, 68, was the ultimate mother of the groom at the nuptials of The 1975 rocker and his model partner Gabbriette Bechtel in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Wedding Photos and Glamorous Looks
In the new pictures shared on Instagram, Denise is seen cosying up to her new daughter-in-law, her in-laws and her son. The wedding was at Castillo del Lago, a residence previously owned by Madonna, and saw the couple exchange vows under the Hollywood sign as the sun started to set.
The big weekend was attended by several celebrity guests including Matty's close friend Charli XCX, presenter Nick Grimshaw and Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, all of whom could be seen in Denise's behind the scenes pics.
However, pretty much all the attention from Denise's friends and fans was aimed at how absolutely stunning she looked in her glam shots. Exuding a Kris Jenner-style vibe, Denise first showed off the dress she wore at Matty's wedding, alongside the caption: 'The happiest time of my life.' She looked powerful in the gorgeous blush, satin gown by Solace London, complete with oversized sleeves and an off-shoulder design.
Fan Reactions
Denise's hair looked salon-fresh, her short 'do silvery platinum and coiffed to perfection. She had gone full glam with a full team working to get her looking and feeling her best. Among her admirers was Kelly Brook, who wrote that Denise was 'absolutely stunning', and Denise's Loose Women co-star Frankie Bridge was 'obsessed'. Andrea McLean added: 'Look at you!!' Ruth Langsford pretty much yelled: 'Absolutely STUNNING!'
Another post from the TV star saw her showing off her 'night one' look in several pictures. Looking outrageously youthful again, Denise grinned and posed in a dramatic one-shoulder black dress. Ruth was back with 'WOWZER' comments, with Christine Lampard adding 'WOW' and Adam Thomas commenting 'Beautiful.'
Denise's Emotional Tribute
In her last of three posts, Denise shared a rolling gallery of images and clips from the long weekend. She wrote: 'To see my eldest son marry the most beautiful, funny, crazy girl under the Hollywood sign was a night I'll never forget. They are made for each other. I kept looking around and couldn't believe so many of our friends and family were all together in Los Angeles celebrating this most magical, beautiful few days watching the love between Matthew and Gabbriette.'
She welcomed Gabbriette's parents, Gary and Chayo, into the family, adding: 'We love our daughter-in-law and our new family @chayobechtel, @gary.bechtel and @marsalsa_.'
Wedding Details
Tuxedoed Matty looked as dapper as ever in the pictures, which include countless fun shots of the family, friends and celebs. In one snap, Denise posed with her new daughter-in-law. In another, Charli XCX can be seen standing in a group shot. Nick Grimshaw popped up in several images.
Matty, 37, was first linked to 28-year-old Gabbriette, whose real name is Gabriella Bechtel, in September 2023, just a few months after his short-lived fling with Taylor Swift. Gabbriette sparked rumours of their engagement after posting a photo of herself wearing a large black ring on her ring finger on Instagram in June 2024.
Before the wedding, Matty celebrated his impending nuptials with a stag do where he performed with a 1975 tribute band. Videos on social media showed the frontman on stage with the tribute band after they appeared to be hired for the party. Meanwhile, Gabbriette enjoyed a hen party with friends in Las Vegas. She shared several photos from the event, including her being handcuffed and carried onto a plane by a man dressed as a police officer.
Gabbriette is the lead vocalist and songwriter of the punk rock band Nasty Cherry, which was formed by Charli XCX, whose husband George Daniel is The 1975's drummer.
