Denise's Instagram posts
Although photos from the ceremony have not yet been made public, Denise shared a photo with a group of her friends on Instagram. She added the caption: 'This weekend was the most magical three days of my life!!! I can't wait to share it with you!' Tagging her friends, including Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, she added: 'All the aunties together in LA.'
Statement from the couple
At the weekend, a statement from the couple's representatives said: 'Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel were married yesterday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by their family and close friends.' The couple were first linked months after he split from Taylor Swift whom he dated for a few months in 2023.
Gabbriette sparked rumours of their engagement after posting a photo of her wearing a large black ring on her ring finger on Instagram in June 2024. She wrote: 'Marrying The 1975 is very brat.' Healy, who was tagged in the post, also re-posted the photo on his own story.
Denise's previous comments
The next day, Denise confirmed the news on Loose Women and said: 'I obviously have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. They went over to see their friends Charli (XCX) and George (Daniel) in New York…and I woke up this morning to the fact they've put it on Instagram.' She added: 'I couldn't be more thrilled. We couldn't be happier – she is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law. I'm thrilled.'
Last month Denise said on the Tom's Hirschsprung's Podcast: 'Matty gets married in July which we're very excited about.' Healy celebrated his impending nuptials with a stag do that involved performing with The 1975 tribute band, with videos circulating online of the frontman singing on stage with the band he hired for the party.
Gabbriette also posted a string of snaps from her Las Vegas hen do including her being handcuffed and carried onto a plane by a man dressed as a police officer. She wore a vintage white Chanel tweed skirt suit with matching bag and heels. Gabbriette is lead vocalist and songwriter of the punk rock band Nasty Cherry which was formed by Charli XCX whose husband George Daniel is The 1975's drummer.
