Denise Richards has ignited speculation over a recent facelift after she was photographed with visible scars and bruising on her face while out in Los Angeles this week. The 54-year-old actress, who has previously admitted to breast implants and Botox, was seen with grisly temple incisions and bruises around her eyes during a low-key outing in Calabasas with her daughter Sami Sheen, 21.
Renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr Giselle Prado-Wright told the Daily Mail that, based on the photographs, she believes Richards has undergone a recent brow lift or facelift. 'From a professional standpoint, the visible incisions and swelling near the hairline, along with the bruising on the sides of her eyes and tightness, strongly suggest a recent endoscopic brow lift or temporal facelift,' Dr Prado-Wright said. She estimated Richards is 'likely between five and eight days post op.'
The outing comes just days after Richards made domestic violence claims in court against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers. Phypers, 52, filed for divorce earlier this month citing irreconcilable differences, listing July 4 as their official date of separation. On July 16, Richards filed for a domestic violence restraining order, alleging horrific abuse that spanned their entire relationship.
In court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Richards stated: 'Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head.' She also alleged that Phypers threatened to 'break my jaw' and caused her at least three concussions. Richards claimed he left recording devices to record her while she was alone in hotel rooms and townhouses.
Richards has not publicly commented on the plastic surgery speculation. The Daily Mail has contacted her representatives for comment but has yet to receive a response.
