Australian singer Delta Goodrem has been confirmed as the third celebrity to join the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. She will appear alongside previously announced contestants Lacey Turner and Dani Dyer.
Delta Goodrem's Journey to Strictly
The pop star, who recently represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, secured an impressive fourth place with her song "Eclipse." In contrast, the United Kingdom finished last with only one point. Following her Eurovision success, Goodrem expressed interest in joining Strictly Come Dancing during an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier this month. She told presenters Ed Balls, Susanna Reid, and Richard Arnold: "Every time I've ever been in the UK and I get immersed into it. I love music with all my heart but as I said before Eurovision, I'm always open."
From Neighbours to Global Stardom
Goodrem first gained fame playing Nina Tucker on the Australian soap opera Neighbours before launching a highly successful pop career. She achieved chart-topping hits in both Australia and the UK, including "Innocent Eyes" and "Born To Try." She joins a distinguished group of artists who began on Neighbours and later achieved international music success, such as Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Holly Valance, and Natalie Imbruglia. Goodrem is currently one of Australia's best-selling artists of all time.
Strictly Come Dancing 2026 Lineup
The BBC has started revealing its celebrity contestants earlier than usual this year. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater on EastEnders, was the first name announced. She expressed her excitement: "I am so excited to be making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly! I am a huge fan and can't quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year! I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill!"
Dani Dyer, the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, was also confirmed for this series after an injury forced her to withdraw from the previous season. She sustained a foot injury during training last year. Speaking about her return, Dyer said: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September! I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one! I'm just over the moon and cannot wait to find out who else is doing it!"
New Hosts for the Series
This year's series marks the first without long-time presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. They have been succeeded by a trio of hosts: Johannes Radebe, Josh Widdecombe, and Emma Willis.
