Delta Goodrem breaks down over Strictly hosts' comment as she misses live show

Delta Goodrem was in tears as she watched this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing from home after injuring her rib during training with partner Kai Widdrington. The Australian singer and actress had to sit out Icons Week, but captured her emotional reaction on video and later shared it on Instagram for her followers to see.

Hosts send heartfelt message

Presenters Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe, and Josh Widdicombe honoured her as they kicked off the show. Emma informed viewers that while Delta wouldn't be dancing on medical advice, she had been given a pass to return next week, injury permitting.

Johannes then said: "Delta my darling I know you'll be watching so I just want to say we are all sending you so much love." As the former professional dancer expressed his warm words, Delta was seen breaking down in tears.

"I love you too," she responded, blowing a kiss to the trio of hosts in the video she captioned: 'Thanks team. It's been a rough week.'

Delta's recovery update

The former Neighbours star had previously posted a message updating her fans on her recovery. She said: "Hello everybody! I just wanted to say hello before Strictly starts, I've got my little seat ready and I've been recovering."

"I promise I'll share more over the next couple of days, it takes a while to get into a positive mindset when you have a setback and you just need to be able to process it and work out what the body is saying and how we continue to move through this but in the meantime I'm very excited to see the amazing talented class of 2026. I'm so exited to watch them do their iconic performances tonight. I'm sorry I'm not there for this one but I'm giving it everything I've got to be there next week."

Judges steal the show

As Icons Week kicked off, viewers were left "crying" within minutes as the hosts introduced the judges to the stage, who had also made an effort to dress up as their own icons. While Shirley Ballas channelled her inner Lady Gaga and Motsi Mabuse transformed into Beyonce, it was Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke who truly stole the show, donning bucket hats, dark glasses and parkas in homage to Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Their unexpected appearance sent fans rushing to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions, with one exclaiming: "Anton and Craig. My god! Who'd have thought it. Liam and Noel Gallagher on #Strictly."

Another viewer commented: "Craig and Anton dressed as the Gallagher brothers is killing me #strictly." A third chimed in: "CACKLING at craig and anton as oasis." Yet another fan remarked: "CRAIG AND ANTON AS LIAM AND NOEL GALLAGHER? ! I am absolutely crying." A fifth posted: "Nearly spat my drink out when I saw Craig and anton come on out there."

Strictly Come Dancing is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
