Debbie McGee, the former Strictly Come Dancing finalist and TV star, has unveiled a dramatic transformation following a series of high-tech cosmetic procedures, describing the results as life-changing. The 67-year-old entertainer, who was married to the late magician Paul Daniels, had never previously undergone any invasive cosmetic treatments, admitting she was scared of toxins, fillers, and Botox. However, after witnessing the impressive results on friends Christine Hamilton and Shirley Ballas, she decided to try a non-surgical treatment to address her skin concerns.
NeoGen Nitrogen Plasma Treatments
For the past year, Debbie has been receiving a series of NeoGen nitrogen plasma treatments with aesthetic practitioner Jenny O'Neill at the Aspire Clinic. The procedure works by stimulating the body to produce high levels of collagen and elastin, the key proteins responsible for youthful, radiant skin. Debbie said the results have finally given her the confidence to stop wearing heavy foundation every day to cover her age spots.
Debbie stated: "The biggest thing that Neogen has done for me is now I don't wear makeup anymore. I've had to put some on today because there's lots of lighting and things recording, but on a day-to-day basis. It's given me a confidence in myself that I didn't have before, because I just feel much more natural."
Motivation for Treatment
Her primary motivation for seeking treatment was to remove unsightly age spots that had been causing her distress. Debbie celebrates her 50th year in showbusiness this year, and her autobiography, A Magical Life, is out in October. She was determined to improve her appearance before that landmark anniversary. "I had a great big brown age spot. It wasn't a mole. It was two, but they kind of covered this area of my cheek, and my father had exactly the same, and they're unsightly. So I always had to cover it with makeup, and if I didn't, people would say, 'What's that?'"
The series of treatments exceeded her expectations. She added: "But what it actually did was more than get rid of this unsightly brown double mark that I had. I had lots of little freckles 'cause I was a sun worshiper when I was younger. They've all gone. So I used to look at people on TV and in photographs and think, 'They've got such clear skin. Mine will never be like that because I've got all these tiny little brown freckles.' But Neogen has got rid of them all. So now I'm the proud owner of a face with clear skin at my grand old age. So it's a wonderful treatment in so many more ways than I would've ever thought possible."
Continual Improvement
Debbie was particularly amazed by how the treatment continues to improve skin quality over time. "The most amazing thing about Neogen is it doesn't just get rid of all your blemishes, but it actually affects the quality of your skin, the texture of your skin and how it looks. The way it promotes your own collagen is incredible, and you keep seeing it working. You have the treatment, you have the downtime for a little while, not long, and then over the weeks, your skin just keeps improving. I've never known anything that has done that."
She added: "I'm 67, I'm not expecting my skin to be perfect, but I actually think it's better now than it was when I was probably in my 40s because it's so much smoother and I just love it."
Natural Results
To celebrate her amazing results, Debbie had a photo-shoot at her beautiful home near Henley, which she previously shared with her husband, TV magician Paul Daniels, who passed away in 2016. Speaking from her kitchen at the art deco home, Debbie said: "Up until one year ago when I had my first Neogen treatment, I had never, ever had any treatments whatsoever. I didn't even have facials. I've always looked after my skin and had a beauty ritual, but I was scared. I didn't want to have toxins or things, fillers and Botox going in."
NeoGen is a nitrogen plasma treatment that rejuvenates the skin without surgery. It works by converting nitrogen gas into plasma energy, which is delivered in pulses across the skin. This controlled heat penetrates into the deeper layers, stimulating new collagen and elastin – the building blocks of firm, youthful skin.
She added: "One of the reasons I didn't have any other treatments is because I didn't want people to look at me and think, 'She looks good. She's had work done.' And we've all done that, looking at people. But what's been fantastic about Neogen is all my girlfriends, and lots of guys I know, keep telling me, 'My goodness, Debbie, you look so good.' But they don't say, 'What have you had done?' It's a natural look. I don't want to look like I've had fillers or Botox, and I'm frightened what will happen to me after them."
Cost and Availability
Looking at her before and after photos, Debbie was thrilled to see improvements in areas she hadn't anticipated, such as the wrinkles on her top lip and the sagging around her jawline. Her series of six treatments cost a total of £4,500. She said: "I do think that you need more than one treatment, but I will say if you can only afford one, I saw a big difference in my skin after one, but I saw an enormous difference as time went on and I had more."
Debbie McGee had a series of six NeoGen treatments at the Aspire Clinic in Reading, but these treatments are available across the UK.
