Davina McCall and her husband Michael Douglas have opened up about an issue that briefly put a "restriction" on their romance. According to the former Big Brother host, dental work her husband underwent last year meant the couple were unable to kiss as often.
Dental Issues Lead to 'Restricted Snogging'
Speaking at the Happy Place Festival last week, Michael told the crowd that he felt his mouth was "deteriorating in some way", leading him to schedule a dentist appointment. It was there he was informed his teeth were "not in good shape" due to "heavily grinding" them during sleep. "My jaw locked shut after my last dental appointment and I couldn't open it," he explained.
In response, Davina jested there was "no snogging" between them, to which Michael retorted: "Well, it was just restricted snogging." "Restricted snogging," she repeated, before chuckling: "Thank god my kids aren't here." Michael went on to say that he was "going to get some work done" to rectify the problem.
Previous Dental Work Changed His Face Shape
During the same chat, the hairdresser said he and Davina had previously paid for Invisalign, a type of removable brace designed to straighten teeth. According to him, the result "changed the shape of [his] face". He added: "I didn't realise your teeth support your cheeks and your mouth and everything. It changed the way I look." Chiming in, Davina, 58, quipped that it made him "even better looking", to which he responded: "You said that, not me."
Second Wedding Celebration
Since their appearance at the event, Davina and Michael have reportedly celebrated tying the knot for a second time, just seven months after their initial wedding. Insiders report that the couple held a larger ceremony at their Kent home, having previously chosen a much smaller, more private celebration. Sources suggest the newlyweds "pulled out all the stops" for the occasion, with Davina looking "stunning" in her bridal attire.
An insider told The Sun: "They went all out and invited friends and family to a bigger second wedding celebration on Saturday. Davina looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. The reception was all about fun. After a ceremony, they drove into the reception on a tuk-tuk which got everyone laughing and cheering." They further revealed: "They had tipi tents erected and guests danced until the early hours. Davina and Michael really pulled out all the stops."
The couple's first wedding was held at Marylebone Town Hall in December 2025, which she described as "a very small and private" ceremony. Michael is Davina's third husband, following her 15-year marriage to Matthew Robertson from 2002 to 2017. The latter is also the father of her children Holly, Tilly and Chester, from whom Michael sought permission before proposing. "He joked to the kids and said, 'Do you want me as a stepdad?' Everyone is happy for us," she shared with Hello! Magazine previously. Davina also tied the knot with shop owner Andrew Leggett in the 1990s, although their marriage lasted just two years.
