Davina McCall reveals Big Brother wedding ring after secret marriage

Television icon Davina McCall has publicly revealed her unique, Big Brother-inspired wedding ring for the first time, following her secret marriage to long-term partner Michael Douglas. The couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in London last week, as exclusively reported.

An Intimate London Affair

The celebrity pair exchanged vows in front of a select group of just ten close friends and family members at Marylebone Town Hall last Friday. Opting for an understated celebration, Davina chose a striking long white faux fur coat over a traditional wedding dress, accessorised with a lace hat, tights, and heels. Her now-husband, the celebrity hairdresser, looked dapper in a bright blue suit.

A source close to the couple told The Sun: "Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home... It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives." The newlyweds reportedly attended a friend's wedding the very next day, happily presenting themselves as a married couple for the first time.

The Big Brother Ring Revealed

Davina chose the occasion of a charity event, where she appeared alongside singer Beverley Knight, to debut her new piece of jewellery. The ring features a distinctive eye-shaped gem set on a silver band, a design widely interpreted as a nod to her legendary role as the host of Big Brother.

McCall fronted the iconic reality show for its first nine civilian series from 2000, as well as five celebrity editions, becoming famous for her "do not swear" catchphrase. The eye motif is synonymous with the show's omnipresent branding.

A Romance Years in the Making

The couple's relationship has deep roots, having first met years ago at Hertfordshire’s Elstree Studios while Davina was working on Big Brother. Their friendship later blossomed into romance following the end of Davina's 17-year marriage to Matthew Robertson, the father of her three children, in 2017.

Michael Douglas proposed just three months ago during a romantic holiday in Ibiza. The pair decided not to wait long to make their union official. The source added: "They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting."

The private ceremony and unique ring reveal mark a joyful new chapter for the presenter and her hairdresser husband, celebrated quietly with their nearest and dearest in the heart of London.
