Davina McCall and her husband Michael Douglas have opened up about an unexpected romance "restriction" caused by a dental issue just before their recent wedding celebrations. Speaking at the Happy Place Festival last week, Michael revealed that using Invisalign, a removable brace to straighten teeth, had altered the shape of his face and locked his jaw shut.
Dental Problem Affected Romance
Michael, a hairdresser, explained that around a year ago he felt his mouth was "deteriorating in some way," prompting a dental visit. There, he learned his teeth were "not in good shape" due to heavy grinding at night. He recalled: "My jaw locked shut after my last dental appointment and I couldn't open it." As a result, Davina, 58, joked there was "no snogging" between them. Michael clarified: "Well, it was just restricted snogging." Davina echoed, "Restricted snogging," before laughing, "Thank god my kids aren't here."
Second Wedding Celebration
Since the festival, the couple reportedly held a second wedding celebration seven months after their first intimate ceremony in December 2025. According to sources, the larger event took place at their home in Kent. A source told The Sun: "They went all out and invited friends and family to a bigger second wedding celebration on Saturday. Davina looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown. The reception was all about fun. After a ceremony, they drove into the reception on a tuk-tuk which got everyone laughing and cheering." The source added: "They had tipi tents erected and guests danced until the early hours. Davina and Michael really pulled out all the stops."
Previous Wedding and Family Approval
The couple's first wedding occurred at Marylebone Town Hall in December 2025, described by Davina as "a very small and private" ceremony. Before Michael's proposal, he sought permission from Davina's children—Holly, Tilly, and Chester—whom she shares with ex-husband Matthew Robinson. Davina told Hello! Magazine: "He joked to the kids and said, 'Do you want me as a stepdad?' Everyone is happy for us."
