Liliana Myers, the widow of Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers, has shared a moving tribute ahead of what would have been his birthday. Dave Myers died in February 2024 at the age of 66, two years after being diagnosed with cancer. The couple married in 2011 after meeting in Romania during the filming of the first series of The Hairy Bikers.
In a Facebook post, Liliana described holding her husband's hand as he passed away as an experience that changed her forever. She wrote: 'Holding the hand of someone you love as they leave this world changes you forever. In that intimate moment, all the noise of the world fades away, and between you and them, there is just love.' She added that it was 'Dave's last gift to me… a reminder to live with deeper gratitude and joy for the time I’ve got left.'
Earlier this year, Liliana spoke about her struggle with grief and revealed she had written a memoir titled 'Dave and Me', published in June, to honour her late husband. She said: 'This past year has been incredibly challenging for me on many levels!!! But guess what? I used all my creative side and honoured Dave by writing his story.'
