Danny Miller Praised for Transformation and Sobriety

Emmerdale star Danny Miller has been flooded with praise and support after sharing a fresh look at his incredible transformation on social media. The Stockport-born actor, best known for playing Aaron Dingle on the ITV soap, opened up about his fitness journey earlier this year, giving his followers a 'before and after' of his impressive physical changes.

Fitness Journey and Sobriety

After teasing an exciting photoshoot, Miller revealed his progress on Instagram, writing: 'I swapped late nights and one more round, for early mornings where I found a clearer head, a steadier pace, a version of me I’m proud to face. To my beautiful wife and children, thanks for helping me change my life, try to better yours.' He also thanked photographer Eddie Whitehead and Set Visuals Collective for creating a safe space for the shoot.

In late May, Miller marked one year of sobriety, calling it an 'emotional day.' He admitted he never believed it was achievable and sent a message to followers: if he can do it, they can too. He praised his wife, Steph, for her unwavering support throughout his journey.

Side-by-Side Selfies

Recently, Miller took to the family Facebook page, The Miller Family, to share two side-by-side images showing how far he has come. Alongside the selfies, he wrote: 'It's not until you see old pictures that you realise how much you've changed.' He recalled feeling run down and tired, constantly putting himself at the bottom of the priority list. 'Like a lot of parents, I was so busy trying to be everything for everyone else that I forgot to look after myself.'

He added: 'To be the best husband I can be, to be the best dad I can be, I first needed to be the best Danny I could be. The photo on the right isn't about being perfect. It's about feeling healthier, happier and having more energy for the people who matter most. Still a work in progress, but I'm proud of how far I've come.'

Celebrity Doppelganger

While many praised Miller for his commitment, others were distracted by his resemblance to singer Olly Murs. One fan commented: 'Looking so much healthier and happier...and weirdly very much like Murs!' Another said: 'Olly Murs twin.' A third replied: 'You look like Olly Murs here.' A fourth added: 'Thought the second pic was Olly Murs lol.'

One Year of Sobriety

Last month, Miller shared a video marking one year since he stopped drinking. He said: 'Hi, I'm Danny, I'm 35 and today marks one year of sobriety. One year since I last had a drink, one year of reinventing myself for my family. Trying to better myself for my children, for my wife, for my family.' He described it as an emotional day because he never believed it was achievable.

Miller admitted he fell down a rabbit hole of drinking and that his wife Steph has been an absolute rock. He stressed that he is not an alcoholic but wanted to better himself for his family and career. He recalled being distant from his children and always checking for a bar at events, which became beyond control.

He concluded: 'If you're lucky enough to be a father, embrace it because it genuinely doesn't last long enough... They grow up so quickly and then it's gone.'
