EastEnders star Danny Dyer has revealed he initially opposed his daughter Dani appearing on Love Island. 'I didn't want her to do it. I'd never seen it before... you fear it as a father,' he said on Good Evening Britain.
Dyer also expressed his frustration over former Prime Minister David Cameron's role in the Brexit referendum. 'How come he can scuttle off? He brought all this on. Where is he? He's in Nice, with his trotters up,' he added.
When asked by Susanna Reid about watching his daughter 'being seduced on national television', Dyer described the show as 'a nutty thing' and a 'game show'. He insisted Dani would win the £50,000 prize.
Defending his daughter's participation, Dyer said: 'She's a talented actress. Some of these young kids can't be bothered with that real struggle, that rejection in acting... so why not go and try and do something like this Love Island?' He added that Dani's new boyfriend Jack Fincham 'seems like a good kid'.
The interview came as Wednesday's Love Island episode became ITV2's most-watched programme ever, peaking at 3.4 million viewers. Good Evening Britain, which aired simultaneously, saw its audience trail off after a strong start.
