Despite widespread belief that a watertight prenuptial agreement would prevent Hugh Hefner's widow from inheriting anything, TMZ has revealed that Crystal Hefner will take control of a multi-million-dollar house and receive an additional $5 million (£3.76 million).
The US news site obtained the deed to a 5,900-square-foot Hollywood Hills property, which is held in the 31-year-old former Playmate's name. Hefner purchased the $7 million (£5.26 million) home for her in 2013, one year after their wedding at the Playboy Mansion. The property features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, an infinity pool, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
It was originally thought that an "iron-clad" prenuptial agreement would prevent Crystal Hefner from inheriting anything. The prenup dictated that Hefner's $43 million (£32 million) net worth would be split between his four adult children, the University of Southern California Film School, and several charities. Crystal was not included in the will.
However, the terms surrounding the house deed and the $5 million are separate from the prenuptial agreement signed in 2012. Crystal, who married Hefner at age 26, has not yet publicly commented on her husband's death or the financial circumstances.
