A woman has been filmed scratching dry skin off the bottom of her foot before using the same hand to eat a slice of pizza. The incident occurred in the dining area of a Carnival Cruise.
Video shows foot scraping and pizza eating
The viral video shows the woman digging into the bottom of her foot, causing flakes of skin to fall to the floor. The scratching continues for at least 20 seconds before she dusts off her fingers and picks up a slice of pizza with the same hand. The casual transition suggests it was not her first time.
After eating the pizza, the woman picks up her fork and digs it into her dry-skinned foot. The footage ends before showing what she did next with the fork.
Carnival Cruise Line responds
Carnival Cruise Line issued a humorous statement in response to the video. They said: "We can confirm that forks are intended for food, not foot care." The statement continued: "Once we became aware of the situation, our team quickly addressed it with the guest and removed the utensil from service. While the video may be generating laughs and gasps online, cleanliness and hygiene are no joke to us."
The cruise line added: "Our crew works hard every day to maintain high standards across our fleet and to ensure all guests enjoy a safe, clean, and comfortable vacation."
