Beloved country music star Anthony Enriquez has died at the age of 36. The musician was best known as the songwriter and guitarist for the popular group Shotgun Rider, which he co-founded with vocalist and guitarist Logan Stamford in 2012.
Musical Journey and Career Highlights
Shotgun Rider released their debut EP in 2015, followed by their first full-length album Palo Duro in 2018. The duo was signed to Texas Music/Red Dirt booking agency Red 11, now part of WME. In June 2019, the band announced their split, thanking fans for four years of incredible memories and support.
After the breakup, Enriquez remained active in the music scene as a songwriter and guitarist until around 2022.
Tributes and Legacy
A Texas funeral home confirmed his passing on June 10, 2026, with a heartfelt tribute: "Anthony was a gifted guitar player and talented songwriter whose passion for music touched countless lives. Many knew him as one half of Shotgun Rider, but his influence reached far beyond the stage. Through his songs, he connected with people on a deeply personal level."
Friends and fans flooded social media with tributes. One friend wrote: "My road brother Anthony Enriquez has joined many of our road brothers and sisters in heaven. Most importantly he has joined his father." Another added: "I really fell in love with the road and music, let alone gained some of the best friends, running around with Anthony and the boys. Gonna miss our long phone calls, and especially your laugh."
A cause of death has not been confirmed.
