Countess Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, 22, has announced her engagement to François Pinault Jr., son of Kering CEO François-Henri Pinault. The couple shared the news on Instagram on Saturday, March 14, 2026, posting photobooth-style images of them kissing alongside a calligraphy-etched invitation.
The daughter of Oscar-winning director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, Lara captioned the post: 'got engaged to my best friend and the coolest boy in the world.' The announcement garnered nearly 20,000 likes within an hour and a wave of congratulations from followers.
Lara made her society debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in 2023 and has since built a career in fashion, interning at Dior. She is also a social media influencer, with millions of views on TikTok for her 'get ready with me' videos, and is often seen front row at Fashion Weeks.
Her title of Countess stems from her German ancestry; her grandfather, Count Leo-Ferdinand Henckel von Donnersmarck, was a former president of the German division of the Order of Malta.
François Pinault Jr., born in 1998, maintains a low profile online. He is part of the Pinault luxury dynasty and has a sister, Mathilde, as well as half-siblings Augustin James (son of Linda Evangelista) and Valentina Paloma (daughter of Salma Hayek). He is occasionally seen at football matches for Stade Rennais or art openings at the Bourse de Commerce.
