Coronation Street's Lisa Swain is set for a busy period as she juggles multiple investigations involving villains and crimes on the Cobbles. Actress Vicky Myers, who plays the detective, has teased what lies ahead for her character, including a potential showdown with Jodie Ramsey.
Lisa Leads Investigations After Kit's Health Battle
With colleague Kit Green undergoing treatment for breast cancer, Lisa steps up to lead the way, starting with the investigation into the shooting at the Platts' house. As she delves into the case, it becomes clear that not everyone is telling the truth.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Vicky praised Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit, saying: "With Kit's situation - and hats off to Jacob Roberts because I think he's doing a fantastic job - it will come to a stage where he needs to take a bit of a back seat where work's concerned."
Jodie Ramsey and the Metcalfes Add Pressure
Vicky revealed that Lisa is "almost sandwiched between the two cases; Jodie and the Platt situation, and then there's the Metcalfes." She added: "There's a lot going on, so it's safe to say that DS Connor-Swain will be kept extremely busy over the next few months."
Asked if Lisa could be the one to bring Jodie down, Vicky was coy but noted: "It's tricky because we're shooting that far in advance, so I'm aware of that storyline. But for now, what's being TXed at the moment, she's doing her job. I don't think she's fully aware of the extent of what Jodie is up to."
Idris Nazir Targets Underworld
Vicky also confirmed that Idris Nazir would come for Lisa's partner Carla Connor-Swain's factory, Underworld. She said: "I know that there's a lot to come with Junade Khan, who plays Idris. So, that'll be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out. Woe betide anyone that takes on Carla! So, good luck with that, Idris!"
