Corrie's Tony Maudsley Supported After Dog's Death

Coronation Street actor Tony Maudsley, known for playing George Shuttleworth on the ITV soap, has received an outpouring of support from his co-stars after sharing the heartbreaking news of his dog's death. The Kirkby-born star took to Instagram to reveal that his Bichon Frise, Bosie, had passed away a few weeks ago, describing it as the "saddest day" of his life.

Emotional Tribute to Bosie

Maudsley, who often documented Bosie's life on his social media, posted a photo of a new tattoo in memory of his pet. The tattoo, located just above his ankle, was created by Marko Prenger at Hand of Hope Tattoo. In the caption, Maudsley wrote: "Had to say goodbye to my Bosie a few weeks ago. Been a bit too heartbroken to share till now. He's always featured very heavily on my Insta posts as you know. Saddest day of my life and I'll miss him terribly. But now thanks to the brilliantly talented brother of my telly sister Jodie, Marko Prenger at @handofhopetattoo, Bosie will now walk with me everywhere, sitting just above my ankle, forever. Thank you Marko. This made me feel better more than you know."

Co-Stars Rally Around

Maudsley's Coronation Street colleagues were quick to offer their condolences. Sally Carman, who plays Abi Webster, commented: "Sending all of the love in the world bud." Samia Longchambon, who portrays Maria Windass, wrote: "So sorry Tony. Sending you all the love." Gai Pierce, who stars as Todd Grimshaw, added love heart emojis. The post also received likes from Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), and Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew).
