Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has been seen sharing a sweet embrace with one of her co-stars as fans continue to question whether she'll still be walking the cobbles after her long-standing character was arrested for murder.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, the actress is famed for playing Sarah Platt, and it was Sarah who was unveiled last month as the killer of dastardly builder, Theo Silverton.
It comes after Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor back in April, bringing an end to his 13-month reign of both physical and mental abuse over his partner, Todd Grimshaw.
Murder investigation and flashback
The discovery soon triggered a murder investigation, with Corrie confirming Theo's husband, and Sarah's best friend, Todd, as a suspect, along with Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd and Theo's ex-wife, Danielle Silverton.
But it was confirmed to be none of the six, with viewers last month transported back to that fateful night. In flashback scenes, Sarah was seen receiving a suspicious text from Todd’s phone. She headed to the flat he had shared with Theo when she was confronted by the menacing character on the scaffolding that had been erected outside.
A drunk Theo prodded and poked Sarah's emotions, even bringing up the son she and Todd had lost 21 years earlier. But as their confrontation became more sinister, as Theo threatened Sarah with violence, the Underworld factory manager defended herself by grabbing a metal pipe, which she hit on Theo’s head, sending him crashing to the ground below. And upon realising what she had done, she phoned her former flame, Gary, to help her.
Confession and arrest
Corrie fans later watched as Sarah confessed the truth to Todd, while Kit remained determined to pin Theo's murder on Gary, not realising that he had been covering for Sarah. That was until she confessed to her copper beau, DC Kit Green, last week, just as he was trying to pop the question.
But Sarah's lies are catching up with her as she's now been arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. Down at Weatherfield police station, Lisa interrogated Sarah before providing evidence that they had found splatters of Theo's blood on her clothing from the night of the crime, after her clothes were taken in as evidence from her own attack by Jodie Ramsey, which came after Theo's murder took place.
Co-star embrace and social media
Spoilers have already given Corrie fans a glimpse at Sarah's time in prison, with visits ahead from Kit and Gary's wife, Maria Windass. But it's left them speculating as to whether this could be the end of Sarah - and Tina's - time in Weatherfield after the actress took on the role back in 1999.
While the drama plays out on-screen, Tina was among the Corrie stars who headed out in Manchester on Friday night for the annual Corrie summer party. And it was later that Lucy Fallon, who plays on-screen daughter Bethany Platt, who shared a sweet photo of the pair in a warm embrace.
It comes after Tina seemingly teased fans by taking to Instagram with a look at her recent camera roll, which included pictures from her dressing room at Corrie's Salford-based set.
The soap star also shared a number of images from what appeared to be a recent sun-soaked break away from the UK, and from back at home with her dog, Cookie. "In no particular order, gorgeous last few weeks," Tina captioned the post.
