Donnaleigh Bailey has confirmed her return to Coronation Street as PC Jess Heywood after fans demanded she become a permanent cast member.
Return to Weatherfield
Viewers of the ITV soap saw PC Jess Heywood return to screens in April, six months after her last appearance in Weatherfield. The copper, played by Donnaleigh Bailey, was introduced in 2017 as the mentor of the late Craig Tinker as he started his career in the local force.
She has appeared sporadically in Weatherfield ever since, with one of the last times last summer when locals gathered to say goodbye to Craig after he was killed in the line of duty. Jess was then seen back at the station in April during a special episode focusing on domestic violence.

Donnaleigh shared a video of herself in a police uniform inside a dressing room, captioned: "Waiting to go on set got me like...." alongside police-themed emojis. Weeks earlier, she posted another video in uniform captioned "PC Jess loading," delighting fans.
