Corrie's Jodie Star: Famous Ex and Music Career

Coronation Street character Jodie Ramsey has been centre stage this week after she was finally exposed. Earlier this week, Shona Platt confronted her sister Jodie after discovering that she was the one who attacked Sarah Platt. Meanwhile, after learning about her trinket box, it was youngster Lily Platt who discovered the mystery item while searching for her console.

On Monday's episode, David Platt and wife Shona arrived home from the hospital with baby daughter Harper to a surprise family welcome party. However, things took a dramatic turn when Jodie arrived and admitted she had told the police about the assault, asking if she can move back in whilst she waits for her court case.

Dramatic Scenes Unfold

Choosing a quiet moment, Lily confronted Jodie about her trinket box, who tried to downplay the fact she has a gun, pretending it was fake. In upcoming scenes this week, David and Shona also confront Jodie about the contents of the trinket box. Yet things go from bad to worse when Jodie takes out her laptop and creates a new thread on a forum dedicated to mums. Calling herself Shona, she describes herself as a first time mum who went through a traumatic birth.

As Jodie, played by Olivia Frances Brown, continues to take centre stage, soap watchers have been keen to learn more about her life away from the cobbles.

Very Famous Ex

Jodie star Olivia was engaged to fellow actor James Nelson-Joyce. James, 37, played Michael Kavanagh in the 2025 smash hit show This City Is Ours and his other acting credits include Mount Pleasant, Little Boy Blue, The Nest, Time, The Outlaws, Industry, The Gold, A Town Called Malice, Bird and A Thousand Blows.

The couple were together for several years and announced their engagement in a joint post in 2023. However, earlier this year it was sadly announced that they had split with the duo deleting all trace of each other on social media. Claiming their relationship is "finished", a source said at the time: "It's finished. They were a rock-solid showbiz couple, and their fans will be absolutely shocked and devastated." According to insiders, the sudden split comes down to Olivia and James' hectic schedules, with the hard-working duo 'struggling to make time in their diaries for each other', reports The Sun.

Side Career

Olivia boasts an impressive following of 39.5K on Instagram, where her profile states: "jazz singer & songwriter". The actress frequently posts clips of her performances at Petit Café Lark Lane, where she takes to the stage regularly. The performer also dropped her single, Shade Of Red, in 2025, which can be streamed on Spotify and comes complete with an accompanying music video.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
