Coronation Street star Jane Danson, known for her long-running role as Leanne Battersby, has been married to fellow soap actor Robert Beck for over two decades. The couple, who tied the knot in 2005, are parents to two sons, Harry and Sam.
How They Met
Jane and Robert first crossed paths in May 1999 at the British Soap Awards. Reflecting on the encounter, Jane recalled: "I'm not the world's most confident person but I'd had a crush on Rob since I was 15, so I thought, I have to speak to him, it's fate." At the time, Robert was starring in Brookside, while Jane had already been playing Leanne for two years.
Robert Beck's Soap Career
Robert Beck has appeared in several British soaps, including Brookside, Emmerdale, and Waterloo Road. He also guest-starred in Coronation Street in 2008 as villain Jimmy Dockerson. During his Emmerdale tenure, he played antagonist Damon 'Harry' Harris in 1999.
Marriage and Family
The couple married in 2005 and have two children: Harry, born in July 2006, and Sam, born in February 2009. Jane has described Robert as her "best friend in the world." In an interview with OK! Magazine, she said: "Me and my husband have been together for 22 years, and we're really good friends as well as loving each other lots." She also revealed: "We've only had about two rows in 20 years. I'm not saying we don't get on each other's nerves sometimes, but we're a strong team and we've always allowed each other to be individuals."
Anniversary Tribute
In December 2025, Jane posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram for their 20th wedding anniversary, sharing a photograph from their wedding day with the caption: "Happy 20th wedding anniversary my love @robertbeck529." Her Coronation Street co-stars responded warmly. On-screen sister Georgia Taylor commented: "Absolute couple goals. Love you both so much." Andy Whyment wrote: "Ah Happy 20th wedding anniversary you lovely couple. Enjoy your day." Samia Longchambon added: "Happy big Anniversary you two!" and Catherine Tyldesley posted: "Happy Anniversary loves."
