Coronation Street actor Jacob Roberts has shared a video from his recent holiday with his girlfriend Caitlin Connolly, whom he met on the set of the ITV soap. The couple, who confirmed their relationship in October, posted footage of their sun-soaked getaway on Instagram, captioned: “The best end to the best year. HNY.”
Roberts, who plays bent copper Kit Green on the show, has been involved in dramatic storylines including discovering a secret son and being left for dead after a stabbing. On-screen, his character has had flings with Shona Platt and Sarah Platt, but off-screen he is dating Connolly, who works as a publicist for Coronation Street.
The video received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow cast members. Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Habeeb, commented “You two!”, while Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd Grimshaw, added a sun and love heart eyes emoji. Fans described the couple as “the cutest” and “gorgeous”.
Meanwhile, on the cobbles, Roberts’ character Kit has been investigating the disappearance of Carla Connor, who was kidnapped by Becky Swain. In Friday’s episode, Kit found a strand of hair at the flat where Carla was held, which later confirmed it belonged to her.
