Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has revealed that his character David Platt may be seen wearing a wig on screen after the actor underwent his third hair transplant. The 38-year-old, known for playing the iconic role on the ITV soap, shared an update with fans following the procedure.

Jack P Shepherd shocked fans earlier this week when he shared a photo of his shaved head. The actor later explained on his podcast, which he co-hosts with Colson Smith and Ben Price, that he had undergone his third hair transplant. He told listeners: "This is my third one. So most people are thinking, I thought you'd just get one hair transplant and then it's Elvis. But that's not the case apparently, because baldness still progresses as time goes on."
He added: "I had one in 2018, 2019 and now. So I've had it all done mainly at the front and in sections." Jack also noted that this was the first time he had shaved his head for the treatment, explaining that shaving allows for more hair follicles to be transplanted.

Jack's fans and co-stars were quick to comment on his new look. Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle, said: "Looking good brother." Coronation Street star Jane Danson, who portrays Leanne Battersby, added: "I think it suits you Jack." The actor also shared a video on his Instagram story, saying: "I washed it for the first time today. The growth is coming through slowly but surely."

It has been a eventful year for the actor, who married his partner Hanni Treweek last summer. Six months later, the couple announced they are expecting their first child, due this month. Sharing a video, Hanni wrote: "We've been keeping a secret…June 2026." The couple received congratulations from co-stars, including Vicky Myers (Lisa Swain) and Sam Aston (Chesney Brown).
