Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard has shared a candid update on her health after revealing she is still waiting for results from biopsies taken from her stomach following her breast cancer treatment.
The former ITV actress, 69, was diagnosed with cancer in February 2026 and has since undergone surgery to remove the tumour and her lymph nodes, as well as a course of radiotherapy. In a new video posted to Instagram, she said she has been experiencing a "burning" sensation in her stomach and is struggling to get answers from the hospital.
Still Waiting for Results
Beverley told fans: "Well, an update. I am still waiting [for] results from the gastro department. They did the scopes and they said I'd got chronic inflammation in my stomach, so they took several biopsies and I've heard nothing. This is weeks ago."
She added: "I've been trying to ring them today because I'm in terrible pain. I just don't know what else to do. So we'll just see what happens, but it's affecting my eating. It's like a burning feeling."
The actress said the pain has persisted since she finished radiotherapy, and neither her GP nor her oncologist at St. Vincent's Hospital has been able to get through to the gastro team.
Medication Not Working
Beverley explained that her oncologist had given her medication for the pain, which eased it slightly, but after four weeks the dose was reduced from two tablets a day to one, and that is "not doing anything at all."
She said: "Even if I have a cup of tea, it's this burning feeling. So I'm bloody fed up. Has anyone else had this?"
In her Instagram caption, she wrote: "Not sure how much longer I can keep waiting! Trying to get hold of someone from the gastro team at St Vincent's Hospital, let alone get any answers, is proving almost impossible!"
Support from Co-Stars
She added: "Meanwhile, the medication isn't working, there's no alternative in sight, and I'm just left feeling constantly nauseous. Sorry for the grumble, but the endless waiting and feeling unwell every single day is really starting to take its toll."
Her friends and co-stars have shown their support, with Doctor Who star Russell T Davies writing: "Oh sending love darling." Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon penned: "Sending all the love Bev. Really hope you get answers and help soon," while Sue Cleaver wrote: "Oh Bev, thinking of you."
