Betsy Swain is left fighting for her life in Coronation Street next week after collapsing at home, sparking a blame game among her loved ones that leads to a police arrest.
Betsy's collapse and hospital dash
In scenes set to air on ITV, Betsy (played by Sydney Martin) is found unconscious on the kitchen floor by Ryan Connor. An ambulance rushes her to hospital, where a nurse tells a tearful Lisa Connor-Swain that an MRI scan is needed. Dylan Wilson visits but runs out as Betsy appears to have a fit, leaving Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain watching in horror as doctors tend to her.
Earlier this month, Betsy had been struggling after being reminded of her ex-boyfriend Mason Radcliffe's murder. She had planned to move to London for fashion college, but her mother Lisa was apprehensive about the move.
Blame and police involvement
As the week unfolds, an upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. However, Lisa later turns on Dylan in the cafe, accusing him of causing Betsy's collapse. Soon after, Lisa goes to the police station and reports a crime. Dylan is arrested by two officers at the precinct, leaving Sean Tully shocked.
Dylan, meanwhile, believes that Brody Michaelis is responsible for Betsy's condition. Lauren Bolton tells Dylan that Betsy is in a bad way and doesn't want to see him, but Betsy is stunned to discover Lisa has reported Dylan to the police.
What's next for Betsy?
With Betsy fighting for her life and Dylan under suspicion, the drama continues as relationships are tested. Betsy's recovery and the truth behind her collapse remain to be seen.
