Corrie star Tony Maudsley devastated by loss of dog Bosie

Coronation Street star Tony Maudsley has revealed his heartbreak after the death of his beloved dog Bosie, describing the loss as the 'saddest day of my life'. The actor, known for playing undertaker George Shuttleworth on the ITV soap, shared the news with fans on Instagram, explaining that Bosie passed away a few weeks ago.

Tony Maudsley's emotional tribute to Bosie

In a moving post, Maudsley wrote: 'Had to say goodbye to my Bosie a few weeks ago. Been a bit too heartbroken to share till now. He’s always featured very heavily on my Insta posts as you know. Saddest day of my life and I’ll miss him terribly.' The Bichon Frise, who celebrated his 13th birthday in May, was a regular fixture on the actor's social media, delighting fans with updates on their adventures together.

To honour his pet, Maudsley got a tattoo of Bosie placed just above his ankle, created by tattoo artist Marko Prenger – the brother of Jodie Prenger, who plays Maudsley's on-screen sister Glenda Shuttleworth. 'Bosie will now walk with me everywhere,' Maudsley added, thanking Prenger for the tribute.

The post was also liked by Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt), Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), and Daniel Brocklebank (formerly Billy Mayhew).

George Shuttleworth's current storyline

On-screen, Maudsley's character George is embroiled in the gripping murder mystery of who killed Theo Silverton. George was a prime suspect due to his close friendship with Todd, who had been the target of Theo's prolonged abuse. The storyline continues to unfold on Coronation Street.
