Beth Nixon confirms departure from Coronation Street
Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has confirmed that her final scenes as Megan Walsh have aired, bringing an end to the villain's storyline. Megan was found guilty of sexually grooming her long-time victim Will Driscoll, played by Lucas Hodgson-Wale, and was sent to prison.
Instagram tribute to co-stars
Nixon took to Instagram to bid farewell to Megan and her co-stars with a carousel of behind-the-scenes images. 'Megan, you’re a cow and I’ll miss you like a hole in the head,' she wrote. 'Thank you thank you thank you to every single person at @coronationstreet you’ve changed my life! Peace out.'
Co-stars and fans react
The comment section was flooded with praise. Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain, said: 'You are just incredible. Can’t wait to watch you soar xxx.' Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price, added: 'We love you! Outstanding!!!!' Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman, wrote: 'Yes Beth.' Olivia Frances-Brown, who plays Jodie Ramsey, said: 'SMASHED IT!!!'

Jude Riordan also shared a behind-the-scenes photo on his own Instagram, writing: 'FRIENDS REALLY! I really enjoyed working with Beth. Megan really tormented Sam and pushed him right over the edge, but shows what a great baddie she is!' Nixon replied: 'Aww Jude, you can see the tears in my eyes here! I loved working with you and you are smashing this storyline, the nomination is so so well deserved you are a star!'
