Next week on Coronation Street, Cassie Plummer's departure from Weatherfield takes a mysterious turn. She wakes up on the sofa at No.4 after Tim Metcalfe found her slumped in the cab office with a bottle of whisky and brought her home. Cassie reveals that Steve McDonald has dumped her and Tyrone Dobbs has thrown her out.
Announcing she has a job cleaning on a cruise ship, Cassie shares an emotional goodbye with grandchildren Hope, Ruby, and Dorin, while Fiz Dobbs gives her a family photo to keep.
Cassie's dangerous exit
As Cassie continues her goodbyes, she asks Steve to meet her at the precinct. But Ross Wilkes pulls up first, offers her a lift, locks the car doors, and guns the engine just as Steve arrives. Later, Ross tells Fiz and Tyrone he wants to move nearby, but Fiz quickly shuts down the conversation. Steve asks Ross where he dropped Cassie off; Ross feigns ignorance until Steve reveals he saw Cassie get into his car, forcing Ross to change his story, claiming he took her to Piccadilly Station.
Tim's surprise reunion
Meanwhile, Tim is surprised to pick up his cousin, Richie Parkinson, whom he hasn't seen in years, as a fare in the precinct. With wife Sally away, Tim invites Richie over for drinks with the lads. As Tim and Richie reminisce about their childhood, Steve feels excluded. After the lads leave, Richie confides in Tim about his unhappy marriage. Tim offers him a place to stay for the night, and Richie accepts.
Dylan attacked
Elsewhere, Betsy Swain confides in Ryan Connor that she'd like to talk to Dylan Wilson but knows how her mum Lisa will react. Ryan summons Dylan, who calls round. As Betsy tries to reassure him she doesn't blame him for her condition, they're interrupted by Lisa's arrival. Later, Lauren Bolton and Brody Michaelis visit Betsy, who struggles to talk. Lauren is horrified when Ryan reveals Dylan called around.
Lauren insists to Brody that Dylan must be held accountable, and Brody confronts Dylan in the café, ordering him to stay away from Betsy. Dylan counters that Brody is just jealous because Betsy never showed interest in him, forcing Nina Lucas to intervene as the lads square up. Later, in the precinct, Nina finds Dylan unconscious. After leaving hospital, Dylan and his dad Sean Tully call at the café with flowers for Nina, and Dylan thanks her for coming to his rescue. Sean confronts Brody and accuses him of attacking Dylan, but Dylan swears Brody wasn't responsible.
Betsy and Lauren's argument
Meanwhile, Betsy and Lauren argue; Lauren storms out, leaving Betsy alone. When Lauren returns, she finds Carla with Betsy in tears, having wet herself. Carla rails at Lauren for abandoning her. Later, Lisa urges Betsy to get fresh air, but she refuses to leave. Lauren apologises to Betsy for leaving her alone.
Debbie's fears for her future
Also, Debbie Webster tells husband Ronnie Bailey she's giving up booze to look after her brain. She offers to help a woman named Sadie who is looking for her daughter, but Sadie snaps at her. On the street, Debbie recognises Sadie; Sienna rushes over to her mum, but Sadie doesn't recognise her and lashes out. Sienna rejects Asha Alahan's offer of help and gently leads her mum away. Debbie watches, horrified to realise this is a glimpse into her own future.
Asha and Sienna discuss her mum's dementia and care options. Ronnie confides in nephew James Bailey that the holiday was challenging and it was a mistake to take Debbie out of her comfort zone. Ronnie assures Debbie that when the time comes, he'll hire a carer. Asha and Bernie Winter-Alahan convince Sienna it's in her mum's best interests to find a good nursing home. Asha explains to Dev how she accompanied Sienna, her mum and her brother to look round a nursing home, but her mum freaked out when she realised what was happening, while Ronnie listens with unease.
Kit's discovery
Jay calls at the flat, handing Kit Green a hard drive containing all the data he requested. Bethany Platt demands to know what's going on; Kit tells her about Gary Windass's involvement in Theo's murder. He shares how, if they can prove Gary is the reason Sarah Platt didn't go to the police at the time, it could lessen her sentence. Later, Kit pores over the data from Gary's phone and discovers something. Soon, Kit finds Gary in the Rovers and, after revealing he's had an interesting day, suggests Gary might like to call round to the flat later.
