Coronation Street fans believe they have spotted a 'missing' detail in the case against Megan Walsh as the trial hurtles towards its dramatic conclusion. The groomer, who arrived on the cobbles last year, faces a verdict in Friday's (July 3) episode of the ITV soap.
Megan's Secret Relationship Exposed
Megan Walsh became a central figure in Weatherfield after Will Driscoll refused to move from Hull, where he was training as an athlete under her coaching. His father, Ben Driscoll, had surprised partner Eva Price by relocating to run the Rovers Return. Viewers soon learned Will's reluctance stemmed from a secret relationship with Megan, which turned sexual just after his 16th birthday.
The affair was exposed in March when Sam Blakeman, who had been threatened by Megan into silence, ended up in hospital and confessed to stepmother Leanne Battersby and Will's stepmother, Eva. Megan denied the claims, and Will initially backed her story. However, the teen eventually told police the truth, leading DS Lisa Connor-Swain to charge Megan.
Courtroom Drama and Changing Statements
Despite Will's statement, Megan pleaded not guilty, and the case went to trial. This week, Will retracted his original statement, claiming he fabricated the relationship after intimidation by Megan's mother, Janine. In retaliation, Megan lied about Will's family, alleging that Ben pushed his son's running career due to his own sporting past and that she merely provided support.
During Thursday's episode, Megan was shocked when Will returned to the stand and changed his story again after her lies. With proceedings adjourned for the verdict, Megan confronted Will at the precinct, shoving him against a wall and calling him "a pathetic little boy," adding that she only gave him attention "because I felt sorry for you."

Viewers were rattled by the scenes and hoped for justice for Will, but many questioned why no one has mentioned another boy Megan groomed, revealed to audiences earlier this year. They argue this evidence could strengthen the case against the predator.
