Coronation Street fans have made a prediction about Todd Grimshaw's future as he plots an escape to Thailand alongside Summer Spellman. Viewers are speculating that a romance could be on the cards between Todd and James Bailey after scenes showing James supporting Todd.
Todd's exit storyline
Todd has been dealing with the abuse he suffered at the hands of his husband, Theo Silverton, and recently learned that his best friend, Sarah Platt, was the one who killed Theo. Theo's body was found by Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor, ending his 13-month reign of abuse over Todd.
During the murder investigation, Todd was a suspect along with George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton. However, it was revealed that Sarah dealt the blow that sent Theo falling from scaffolding outside his flat. Sarah later confessed to Todd, and after her partner DC Kit Green tried to pin the blame on Gary, she told Kit the truth. Despite his attempts to help, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Todd told Summer about Sarah's involvement, and she understood his dilemma. Later, Todd and Summer announced they were flying to Thailand to join Eileen and Jason Grimshaw. However, scenes with James Bailey, who offered Todd support, sparked fan predictions of a future romance.
