Corrie fans predict Sarah Platt's prison escape plan

Coronation Street fans think they have worked out how Sarah Platt could be saved from prison, and it does not involve framing Gary Windass for murder.

Murder investigation

In recent months, there has been a hunt for Theo Silverton's killer after his body was found by Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor in April. Viewers first learned Theo was among five villains at risk of being killed off during a February episode featuring flashforward scenes of Betsy being interviewed by police about finding a dead body.

It was eventually revealed that Theo was the victim after he tormented Todd one last time, having reported his abusive husband to the police following a brutal attack. A murder investigation was launched, with suspects including Todd, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton.

Sarah's involvement

Last month, viewers discovered it was none of the six, as Sarah appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off scaffolding outside his flat. She then called on her former flame, Gary, for help. Sarah later confessed the truth to Todd, while Kit Green remained determined to pin the murder on Gary, unaware he had been covering for Sarah until she confessed to her copper beau as he tried to propose.

Despite Kit's attempts to cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. At Weatherfield police station, DS Lisa Connor-Swain interrogated Sarah, presenting evidence of Theo's blood on her clothing from the wedding, taken as evidence after her own attack by Jodie Ramsey. Lisa later questioned Sarah again, but she continued to protest her innocence. She has now been charged with Theo's murder and faces a life behind bars.

Fan theories

Some Coronation Street fans have been getting creative with how they think Sarah could remain free. Key_Bus_1255 asked: "Let's assume Sarah isn't going down for the murder... Do you think Jodie will be the one blamed for the murder, and that will be her exit??" Mrs_Heff replied: "I do now!!" Patient-Secret3565 commented: "I think this may end up happening."

SparklyZigZag suggested: "So I've read in a spoiler that some time next week she tells Kit it was Jodie who attacked her. Wouldn't it be fun if they framed Jodie? She's got the creepy box, she attacked Sarah... David hates her and loves his sis so could be some sort of witness... They could make it seem that she's a prowler and randomly attacked Theo... Gary can get in on it to protect himself... Can be a big conspiracy thing. Would get Sarah out of jail, get rid of Jodie... Boom."

GearArtistic7082 shared: "I still think maybe Sarah didn’t quite kill him and his wife came back after Gary sent her a text and she finished him off. Otherwise I don’t quite see how they are going to keep Sarah in the programme." Dalekbuster523 added: "This was my prediction before. Kit and David team up to frame Jodie for killing Theo. They do seem to have been teasing some sort of uneasy alliance between Kit and David."
