Coronation Street fans believe they have figured out Lauren Bolton's next move after she expressed anger over Betsy Swain's decision not to press charges against Dylan Wilson.
Lauren has been vocal with her best friend about wanting Dylan punished for what happened. Last week, Betsy was found collapsed on the kitchen floor of No.6 Coronation Street and rushed to hospital, where she fought for her life.
Ryan Connor found her, and her mothers, Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain, rushed to her bedside. Doctors later confirmed the teenager had suffered a stroke, which Lisa struggled to comprehend due to her daughter's age.
Betsy's condition and cause
After her condition appeared stable, Betsy suffered a second stroke. Doctors confirmed it was caused by a blood clot resulting from neck artery damage due to temporary loss of circulation. Betsy then had to explain that her boyfriend, Dylan Wilson, had strangled her during consensual sex, though both believed the pressure applied was minimal.
Lisa was horrified and said she would report Dylan to the police. Lauren also told Dylan to stay away from the hospital and later informed Betsy that Dylan had accused her of cheating as he struggled to take accountability.
Betsy has been told she may make a "good recovery," but during Tuesday's (July 21) episode, Lauren visited Betsy and clashed with a nurse. Lauren asked if the nurse knew how serious Dylan's actions were, but Betsy tried to explain that both wanted what they did. Lauren fumed at her friend for 'protecting' Dylan.
Dylan's denial and Lauren's vow
Later, Dylan appeared at the hospital, still denying involvement. He rushed out in tears, and Ryan stepped in to explain the cause of Betsy's strokes. In Wednesday's (July 22) episode, Lauren was pleased that Betsy was going to press charges, but Lisa later revealed Betsy did not want to proceed against Dylan.
Lauren fumed, claiming it was another man getting away with crimes, hinting at what happened with Joel Deering. Lisa understood but said it was about what Betsy wanted. Lauren vowed: "He's not getting away with this. He shouldn't be allowed to!"
