Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out Jodie Ramsey's plan for David and Shona Platt after it was revealed she survived the recent shooting in Weatherfield.
In Thursday's (October 8) episode of the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, Jodie was finally confronted by Shona and her husband, David, over her sinister behaviour, which ended in a weapon being wielded and a gunshot ringing out.
Jodie's survival confirmed after surgery
Having previously attempted to get in between Shona and David, the latest episode of Corrie featured the dramatic moment when Jodie proved she would stop at nothing to steal her sister's life, having reunited for the first time in years back in January.
Jodie was seen going all out to seduce David when Shona arrived home, having been given information about Jodie's games by Bethany Platt, but also because David was playing along with her seduction, as he had hidden his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them.
As David and Shona confronted Jodie, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box. Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she'd previously convinced them the weapon she had was fake.
Fans fume at Platt's cover-up
Tackling her sister head-on, a scuffle broke out, and Shona ended up pulling the trigger, and a gunshot rang out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa. A distressed Shona then attempted to help Jodie as she bled out.
During Friday's (October 9) follow-up episode of the long-running show, a panic-stricken Shona tried to help Jodie, while David phoned the emergency services. When asked if the patient was hurt, David lied and said that they'd heard the gunshot and ran in to find Jodie alone.
Paramedics and a firearms officer arrive at the scene, alongside DS Lisa Connor-Swain, as an investigation into what had happened quickly got underway. It was later in the episode that it was confirmed Jodie had made it through surgery and was doing well, meanwhile, David and Shona tried to get their story straight, with David already having dumped the gun in the canal.
Viewers predict blackmail twist
Later, as Jodie came round in hospital, Jodie discovered that family hadn't told the police that she was the one who owned the firearm in the first place, and she was soon using their lies to her advantage. While Jodie hinted at her plans at the end of the episode, as Lisa came to interview her, Corrie fans are certain they know what games she'll play next - and it left them annoyed at David and Shona.
