Coronation Street fans have been making a horror prediction about Harry Platt's future as he witnessed his mum, Sarah Platt, being arrested for murder.
It was back in October that viewers of the ITV soap saw the return of the youngster after six months away from screens, and fans were quick to comment on social media as they spotted he had been recast for the second time since December. In December 2024, Carter-J Murphy took over the role of Sarah's son with late villain Callum Logan from real-life twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes, who had previously played the role for seven years. But Carter-J had to give up the role after being cast in Matilda the Musical, and Harry has since been played by new actor Joshua Leavy.
Harry witnesses Sarah's arrest
It's fair to say the young lad was horrified when earlier this week, he watched as police stormed into the flat he shares with his mum, older sister Bethany Platt, and Sarah's boyfriend, DC Kit Green, as she was suddenly arrested for murder. Two decades after her debut, having been part of some of Corrie's biggest storylines over the years, in a surprise twist last month, Sarah was unveiled as the killer of dastardly builder Theo Silverton.
It comes after Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor back in April, bringing an end to his 13-month reign of both physical and mental abuse over his partner, and Sarah's best friend, Todd Grimshaw. Soon after, a murder investigation was launched, with Corrie confirming Theo's husband, and Sarah's best friend, Todd, as a suspect, along with Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd and Theo's ex-wife, Danielle Silverton.
Fans react to Harry's trauma
But it was confirmed to be none of the six, with viewers last month transported back to that fateful night, showing that it was Sarah who appeared to deal the blow that sent a drunk Theo tumbling off the scaffolding outside his flat and plummeting to the ground - before she called on her former flame, Gary Windass, for help. Corrie fans later watched as Sarah confessed the truth to Todd, while Kit remained determined to pin Theo's murder on Gary, not realising that he has been covering for Sarah. That was until she confessed to her copper beau last week, just as he was trying to pop the question.
Kit eventually promised that he would protect Sarah from getting arrested and offered to get her and Gary's phones scrubbed clean. However, he could be heard asking for a copy of the phone's data, suggesting his plan wasn't to help Gary at all. But it was during Monday's (July 20) edition of Corrie that the police finally made a major move in their investigation. Aware that the police were closing in, a panicked Sarah was disrupted by her brother, David Platt, who wanted them to record a birthday message with her son, Harry, for Audrey Roberts. Bethany went on to join them in Sarah and Kit's flat, but they were soon interrupted by the police barging in through the door and arresting Sarah on suspicion of murder.
Now, Corrie fans think the trauma could have a detrimental impact on Harry. @mitchraf86 said: "Harry- now a future serial killer himself." However, @WayhaughtLunar suggested: "Got a feeling Kit and the Platt’s are going to make Lisa’s life a living hell and maybe Harry will act out and start vandalising stuff at no.6, underworld etc #Swarla #Corrie." @pjv_valiantassassin added: "If Sarah goes down it's gonna be hard for Harry to cope without his mum and she did it in self-defence as she had no idea what Theo was gonna do while on the scaffolding."
