Corrie Fans Heartbroken as Todd and Sarah's Friendship Ends

Coronation Street fans were left heartbroken as Todd Grimshaw ended his friendship with Sarah Platt after she confessed to killing Theo Silverton. However, viewers also spotted a glaring plot hole in Todd's argument.

Sarah's Confession

During Thursday's episode (June 25), Sarah admitted to Todd that she was responsible for Theo's death. The confession came after Todd suspected Gary Windass of the murder, but Gary insisted he was innocent. Sarah, tired of Todd blaming Gary, revealed she had pushed Theo off scaffolding during a confrontation in February.

The flashback showed Sarah receiving a suspicious text from Todd's phone and heading to the flat he shared with Theo. A drunk Theo taunted Sarah about her son and threatened violence, prompting her to grab a metal pipe and strike him, causing him to fall to his death. She then called Gary for help, who assisted her in covering up the crime.

Todd's Reaction

After hearing the truth, Todd told Sarah that she had robbed him of the chance to face Theo and see justice for the abuse he suffered. He said he loved her and couldn't go to the police, but he could no longer have her in his life. A devastated Sarah embraced him, but Todd pulled away and left.

Fans Spot a Problem

Viewers took to social media to express their sadness but also pointed out a flaw in Todd's reasoning. Todd had suggested Sarah could have called him on the night of the murder, but fans noted that his phone was missing at the time. @ElaineWharton1 tweeted: "FFS Todd, how could she phone you? You’d lost your phone at the time #Corrie." @CavoloChe added: "Todd, how could she phone you, your phone was in Theo’s pocket… #Corrie."

@J_WBerry explained: "I still don't get why Todd suggested Sarah could have phoned him after killing Theo. They both know Todd didn't have his phone. That was the reason Todd got back out of the taxi & why Sarah went to the flat, then followed Todd's ringing phone out onto the scaffolding. #Corrie."

Emotional Performances Praised

Despite the plot hole, many fans praised the performances of Tina O'Brien (Sarah) and Gareth Pierce (Todd). @ThomasR14336083 said: "Really enjoyed Sarah & Todd scenes in today's episode. Tina O'Brien & Gareth Pierce delivered stellar performances. #Corrie." @xxAlicia89 echoed: "I really loved the scenes with Todd & Sarah in today’s ep. Tina O’Brien & Gareth Pierce really delivered. @bensoncarters added: "What an emotional rollercoaster. tina o’brien & gareth pierce are so so brilliant. truly the best thing about this era is sarah and todd’s friendship being front and centre #corrie."
