Corrie Fans Fear Summer Spellman Death After Worrying Sign

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) could be facing a tragic death after noticing a worrying change in her behaviour on the ITV soap.

Summer's Troubling Behaviour Raises Alarm

Summer, the adopted daughter of the late Drew Spellman, has been under the care of her godfather Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) since Drew's death. She first appeared on the cobbles in 2017 and has since been involved in major storylines, including a surrogate pregnancy, diabetes struggles, and the loss of Billy and his husband Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).

Recently, Summer was wrongly imprisoned as a suspect in the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who was found dead in April. Six suspects were initially identified, including Summer, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), Gary Windass (Mikey North), George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). However, this week it was revealed that Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) is the real killer, leaving Summer exonerated but shaken.

Fans Spot Alarming Pattern

Viewers have voiced concerns after Summer was seen getting drunk during a fraught dinner party that ended in bloodshed. She has also been spending money extravagantly on friends and agreed to go out with strangers. One fan wrote on X: "So it looks like Summer's going off the rails. Hitting the bottle every day, throwing her money around, and off partying with strangers. Where's this storyline going?"

Another viewer commented on Facebook: "Does anyone else think they're going to do an alcoholism storyline with Summer?" A third added: "You could be right here? And with her diabetes too it could make her poorly again." Others expressed fears of an exit plot: "I hope this isn't the start of an exit plot that leads to her dying." A fifth viewer noted: "Could be her way out as large amounts of alcohol and type 1 diabetes can be fatal." Another said: "I'm worried that Summer is on a dangerous path."

Potential Impact on the Cobbles

If Summer were to die, it would devastate the community, especially following the heartbreaking departures of Billy and Paul. Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
