Coronation Street fans are convinced that Ross Wilkes will target an unexpected family member next, with many fearing for young Ruby Dobbs.
Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) recently discovered that Ross (Ian Burfield) is his father, and it was later revealed that Ross had paid Tyrone's mother, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), for sex when she was just 15, leading to Tyrone's birth.
Cassie told her family the truth, but they continued to build a relationship with Ross. He then threatened to kill Cassie if she interfered again, while maintaining a friendly facade with his new family and girlfriend Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Cassie's disappearance
Viewers saw Cassie driven away by Ross earlier this week, after which he returned with a family photograph that Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) had given to Cassie. Fiz grew suspicious when Ross lied about seeing Cassie on the day she left.
In Thursday's episode, Fiz confronted Ross about where he dropped Cassie. He said "Piccadilly," but when Fiz pressed for details about the station or coach, he claimed "Radio silence" was typical of her. Fiz remained unconvinced.
Fears for Ruby
Many fans now believe Ross could set his sights on Tyrone and Fiz's teenage daughter, Ruby (Billie Naylor). One viewer wrote on a Facebook fan page: "I think it'll be Ruby that he goes after." Another added: "Yes definitely see it taking a dark turn. Ruby isn't safe either. I think Fiz is onto him but maybe he targets her as well."
A third said: "I think it will be Ruby," while another suggested: "Ruby or Hope are not safe. I think he may cause trouble between Tyrone and Fiz to split them up as he will find out Fiz is on to him." A fifth echoed: "Ruby is the one I think he will prey on. He's awful. Tyrone needs to wake up and see what's going on."
Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
